Fermentation 101: Pickles!

This time of year, farmers markets and home gardens are overflowing with cucumbers. What better way to preserve the bounty than with crunchy, tangy, live cultured pickles?

We'll walk step by step through the process of making traditional sour pickles that are naturally probiotic with no vinegar added. Traditional brine pickles can be a little fickle, but you'll learn some tips and tricks for keeping your pickles crisp and flavorful.

Fermentation 101: All About Kimchi

Do you love kimchi? Looking to make your own spicy, ginger, garlicky, funky ferments at home? This class will be interactive. We'll start with the raw vegetables and walk through the entire kimchi process.

Fermentation 101: Free Demo!

To celebrate Sweet & Sauer's first whole year in Midtown, we're doing what we do best: making kraut! In this demo, we'll cover the basics of various kinds of fermentation, and how you can start making some simple fermented foods at home, including sauerkraut, kombucha, and kefir!

We'll have free kombucha and samples of our ferments. Following the demo will be a Sweet & Sauer pop-up shop for you to take home goodies, if you choose.
